Clive -

This subject has come up before. You'll find you cannot use anything
outside the ASCII Decimal character set. I have had the same problem in
V3.1.2 for some time (and nothing's changed), trying to represent Polish and
Lithuanian personal and (more particularly) place names. You can't even get
round it by using cut-n-paste from elsewhere e.g. Word. Regrettably this
diminishes the appeal of FH in those markets where more exotic diacritical
marks are needed, including the USA where so many people have Central or
Eastern European forebears. I'm not aware that the situation changes with
V5 - or am I wrong?

Thank you Jane & Shelagh,

In FH Version 4.1.3 using Arial Unicode, Windows Central European or Windows
Western with copy and paste from the Character Map the characters appear
correctly in the Property Box, but the underlying Diagram does not update
correctly. If a Diagram is not open then the Records Window does not
update. When the property Box is closed and reopened the characters have
reverted to plain characters without the Accent, Caron, Cedilla, or Ogonek.
Characters with the Diaeresis (Diacritical, sometimes called the Umlaut)
work fine. Help please.

In order to support those, you will need to ensure the font you are using
includes them.

So something like Arial with Central European selected should do them.
