Hi Lois- you are not the first person to mention this--however that is how I
started out--with the address on the top half of page 10. I had a lot of
mangled copies back then and asked the folks at the post office about it and
they suggested moving the address to the bottom of the page so that the
folded edge and not loose edge with the label was near the cancellation
machine. They also told me the part where the staple went needed to be away
from the cancellation machine--meaning the bottom end. The situation
actually did improve since I moved the address part to the bottom--but there
are still maybe 2 copies each issue that are reported as being mangled--out
of 200+ so I guess I just have to expect that. It is cheaper in the long run
to replace a couple copies than it is to put them all in envelopes or to cut
back on the content to use envelopes.
