Nancy- I am sure others will have great suggestions for you--I can only tell
you what I did with my first issue. I started with myself and wrote about my
own family--it is always good to start with what you know and work from
there. I invited others to send me information.
Since my newsletter was a surname newsletter and not all people with the
surname are related to one another--I started getting addresses from various
sources for others with this surname and sending a sample copy of the current
issue to 50 or so folks with the surname each issue. If they didn't respond
they received no more issues. I must say the response wasn't too good doing
it that way. I did much better with folks finding us from my surname website
and through mailing lists and message boards. As more people found our group
there was more information coming in and as I said in another message it sort
of snowballed.
Joan
