Subject: [FAMILY-NEWSLETTERS] themes and ideas
Date: Mon, 31 Jan 2000 23:11:56 +0000
I'm now so enthusiatic about family Newsletters that I'm preparing well
ahead and have ideas for the next 10 issues. I'm hoping by posting to
the list it might generate ideas for everyone.
After my third issue I am going to use themes for the next seven - yes
seven issues. That showes you how keen I am (I have already designed
the front covers so there's no holding me back!).
The themes I'm using are;
Marriage
Barnett Babies
Christmas
Mothers Day
School Days
The War Years
Houses and Homes
For the marriage one I thought as well as including wedding photos; (I
have a page with my parents, my sister and my own wedding on) I thought
I'd include things like wdding traditions through the ages and that sort
of thing. A selection of family history wedding dates etc.
Babies well that speaks for itself1 I would like to do a then and now
feature and things like baby care through the ages.
Christmas speaks for itself but again looking at the past as well as the
present.
School days. Past and present school photos maybe a picture or two of
the schools we went, memories etc.
The War Years. I have my late fathers war photo albumn lots of stuff
there plus a lot of his written memories of his war years as he was a
regular in the British army serving in Africa and the far East. War
songs, the troops, wartime recipes etc.
Houses we lived in. Again past and present. Homes from the past how
people lived etc.
I'm hoping this topic will spark a hive of activity on the list seeing
as it is quiet and that it will generate new ideas for myself as well as
for everyone else.
I would be pleased to hear of other themes I could use or how I could
add to my list. Having an overactive mind I wonder if I will find time
to sleep!
