Gosh, Audrey, I could have written this! I have just about the same thing
happen.
I have been writing the Family Quilt about 5 years now. For the first two
years I got no responses from anyone, then I started getting little
trickles, especially if the newsletter was late! :-)
Then someone sent me a check (I bout had a heart attack) and I, like you,
put a thank you in the newsletter. With that, more and more started sending
in money. Now I just have a place in the newsletter for those who
contribute. There is no charge for our newsletter.

As for getting information from family members, I don't have much luck. I
am jealous :-) of those who do get help. I feel fortunate when I do get
family news. I have to make phone calls and send out emails before time for
the newsletter to be published, just about begging for news for the
newsletter! It seems after all of this time, they would know it was time,
but they never do. Yet, if they get left out, they get upset! Yet, this
Christmas, I received more thank you's and cards than we have ever received
before. So something must be working!

Diane
