The term "pack" usually means to compress in some way in computer
lingo. In FO, in the file menu, there is an item, "pack (compress)
database". This routine is supposed to fix potential problems that
may have arisen in your database due to deleting entries or whatever.
From reading the help topics, it's unclear exactly what it does but I
expect it would be a good idea to do this occasionally -- especially
if you have deleted individuals or links. It's a good idea to make a
backup before you pack.
