I believe that in a duplicate search the program compares the names
of individuals with closely matching names, the same sex and similar
birth dates (including those without birth dates). In version 7 you
can choose the number of years between births and can ignore people
without birth dates to cut down the possibilities it gives you. I do
not remember the possible choices in version 5.
