Mike,
I have received several "direct" responses similar to yours, and will
include my message to PC Magazine below
"Dear PC Editor,
I read your review of the genealogy programs in the April 20, Vol. 18,
No. 8 issue and was appalled to find you did not include the very finest
program of them all, Family Origins, ver. 7.01 I have all the programs
you reviewed, purchased on my way to finding Family Origins. With all
due respect how could Laura Cox miss the #1 best seller? Take a look at
the opening screen for starters. A full FIVE GENERATIONS all there and
easy to read. And as for REPORTS, and other printed data like BOOKS and
custom reports there is no equal to FOW7 as we users call it. Sorry, but
it is obvious Laura never even looked for her mother or father let alone
true ancestors going way back. Mine go back to 1450 in many lines and
back to 750 (Styring) and Viking King Canute.
Your "choice" programs lock up with indigestion when I enter my GEDCOM
data. As an old subscriber, I write for the first time, because I think
you are steering newcomers to the wrong programs. Who are you serving,
advertisers or subscribers?"
Bill (Considering unsubscribing!)
