After reading the notes like Mary's (below) regarding the freeze or
inability of FO to create a gedcom where longer lines exist, I tried
creating a gedcom from my master database and ran into exactly the same
situation in 8.02. Like Mary, I also have user created fields for RESEARCH
NOTES and PRIVATE NOTES. Like Mary, I also was able to export these field
when I chose to with no problem in 7.01.

At Wayne's suggestion, I stopped the gedcom process after it ran for a
couple of minutes and had not gotten past the first individual. The size
was 2958kb and there are NO URLs or lines that long in it. I had
"preserve wrap" checked, but those lines all seem to be handled just fine
in printouts. And the place in the file it got hung up on does have spaces
in the words and it could have easily broken between words. But it didn't.

It had stopped within the PRIVATE NOTES fact and was in a loop

2 TYPE Private Notes
2 NOTE
3 CONT TIMELINE -- (name of person)
3 CONT 01 Feb 1940: (went to specific event)
3 CONT
3 CONT
3 CONT

(There was some text in some of the lines) But, then it went into a loop
with literally thousands of those lines "3 CONT" that were completely
empty and had no text at all. It didn't stop until I stopped it.

I'm really disappointed that I can't do any gedcoms at all. This problem
didn't exist for me in 7.01. I've done a lot of additions since converting
to 8.0 and would hate to lose all of those by reverting to 7.01. Surely
Bruce will get another patch out soon to fix this problem. Bruce??
