Published in the Chattanooga (Tenn) News-Free Press on Tues, April, 14, 1998:

James Edwin Folkner, who retired from the Chattanooga Free Press in 1977, died
monday, April 13, 1998, at his home. He was 86.

He was a son of the late John Thomas and Cleo Abel Folkner, early pioneers of
Red Bank.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Eloise Copeland and Cleo Newbury, and
four brothers, John A., Les, Floyd, and Eugene Folkner.
