Mary,
Thank you for your email.
I look forward to hearing from you when you return.
I trust the memorial service is a blessing for all who are there.
I also hope your visit with Bill Fay goes well. He is a wonderful man, and
someone who could lead a religious service for the extended family.
We would probably have at least 4 of the nine members of my family in
attendance.
I don't think it matters too much which dates you pick, other than it will
probably be better for folks with kids if school is out. Our kids are all
out of school, so it will be more a matter of time and money for our family.
Thank you so much for doing this!!! I am excited at the prospect of seeing
our extended family gathered!
All the best,
Brewster Fay

Dear Brewster and Fred,
I have to go out to San Francisco this weekend, because one of
Bob's 1st Cousins died. They are holding a memorial on Saturday, Oct.22,
2005. We have a meeting at lunch with William "Bill" FAY on Monday.
I hope to have a set of dates by mid November. I am sorry, but I
have had a great deal of personal medical problems this month.
Do you think that we should use the OLD STYLE dates or the NEW
STYLE dates for the landing of John FAY Sr.? It is a matter of 11 days.
There are several layers of participation possible. Most
important, I think, would be some kind of religious service in the area on
either a Sunday or on the anniversary of the landing.
Some people will want to do some genealogy while they are in the
area. This means access to various cemeteries, libraries, and town clerk's
offices.
Up until the time I went to see Fred FAY in Massachusetts, I was
not getting very much feedback on this reunion. However, it seems that
about 50 or more California FAY descendants are interested. My own FAY
family has only 10 members.
I will be getting back to you both when I get back from CA.
Sincerely
Mary (FAY) Nelson 9
