Paul,
With reference to Featherstone-Digest Vol. 99: Issue 42, Some of those
mentioned on page 1 were great uncles of mine: #2Featherston, E. B. (Earl
Bolivar), died 1863 in War Between the States; #6 Featherston, J.C.C.(John C.
Calhoun, the only one of 4 brothers who fought in the war to survive); #8
Featherston, L.P. (Lewis Preston) died in 1862; and one other not listed in
that Issue #42 was Claudius Cyprion Featherston who died in 1862.
Fortunately neither of their parents lived to know that three of their four
sons fought and died for the Confederacy. Their sister, Helen Henrietta
Featherston Williams was my great grandmother. Also on page 2 of that same
issue under the 1840 South Carolina Census Featherston, J. W. (John Wesley)
was my great great grand father and the father of the aforementioned. I
found that issue quite interesting.
