Yes, my greatgrandfather was a Cherokee Indian with the last name of
Featherstone his family is buried in York Memorial Park in Charlotte
NC. I am trying to find out what is the origination of that name. My
grandmother was half Cherokee and black with that name. There are
several black families in Phoenix Arizona with this same surname. I
discovered that he has lived in nashville, Tn. and also in Transylvania
county North Carolina. I am trying to find his date of birth and who
his parents were. He was a tall handsome red skinned man with long
wavy hair. Our family has pictures of him. Because of his looks he had
many different wives one know was Martha and another was named Nancy
Thomas. My greatgrandfather could read and write and he taught my
grandmother and her brother and sisters. My grandmother was born around
1904 and her oldest brother around 1901. They called themselves "Old
Settlers" If you find anyone with any information please steer them my
way. All of our family heritage was destroyed in a fire
sincerely , Barbara
Spencer Have a nice day!
