Kent is a County in Ontario, Canada - just south of Lambton County (Sarnia)
where I live, north east of Essex County (Windsor) and south west of Elgin
County (St. Thomas) and Middlesex (London).

A few weeks ago, while searching for my Featherstone ancestor (of which I
have found no trace before her marriage), we drove through the most
beautiful little village on the north shore of Lake Erie, in Ontario. I
believe it must be Haldimand County. The town was called Featherstone. There
was one local restaurant at a cross-roads and no other businesses where we
could stop and ask about the place. It looks like a lovely spot to retire.

Here is a good point to mention again who I am searching for:

Sarah Featherstone, born 1842 in Weardale, Durham Co, England, to John
or James and Pearl Featherstone ( no supporting documents at present besides
excerpts from a family letter and Sarah's death record, information given by
her son).

Sarah married Thomas Hotchkiss, 1863 (before central records began in
Ontario in 1869 - marriage not found in County indexes for 1858 to 1869).
The marriage likely took place in Port Burwell, Bayham Twp, Elgin Co,
Ontario. It may be recorded in the Anglican church archives in London,
Ontario.

Thomas and Sarah migrated to northern Ontario and settled there. The
property they lived on is still in the Hotchkiss family. Both buried in
Little Rapids Cemetery, Thessalon, Ontario.
