Gideon Klein
Nov. 28, 1900 — Nov. 14, 2000
Gideon Klein, 99, of Salem died Tuesday. (Marion County)
He was born in Eureka, S.D., and worked in the hardware and oil business. He
moved to Salem in 1947 and was a retired supervisor for the Salem School
District maintenance department. He was a member of the Masons, Lions, Elks,
Eagles and Salem Garden Club. He married Alma in 1926; she died in 1964. A
son also preceded him in death.
Survivors include his companion, Velma Carpenter of Salem; daughter, Mariah
Featherstone of Portland; seven grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Christ Lutheran Church, where he was a
member. Private interment will be at Belcrest Memorial Park. Arrangements
are by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service. Contributions: the church
