Paul,
I don't think I gave you the full picture.
Mary Ann Wyatt aged 24 was married to Charles John Hughes (born Hastings) on
2 June 1889 in the parish church of St Mary Newington in Surrey. They were
both residing at 316 Walworth Road, Newington. Her father was William Wyatt
(deceased - I missed that, naughty!) clerk. I assume her mother was still
alive.
What we are looking for I think is a widow Wyatt about 50 living at the
above address (if she was still alive)
Where was Mary Ann Wyatt aged 16 in 1881 census? Was she in Newington or
was she already in Sussex?
When I go up to Palmerston North on the 2 May I will look in the SCH index
to see if I can find her birth and order the birth certificate, which should
answer some of my questions.
Sorry to mess you around.
Naomi
