I wonder if 22 Camden Road holds a key.

Frederick was there in the 1891 census, and Solomon FEATHERSTONE in the 1887
directory of Tunbridge Wells. I wonder if George's cousin's line died out or
something. I wonder if we can find a will for Solomon. Solomon does not
appear in George FEATHERSTONE's direct line.

These are the wills i have based my assumptions on - where I got Elizabeth
Jane's death

As George died in 1901, according to the above will mentioned by Diane,
Elizabeth Jane would have been a widow.

George the baker left his money to Elizabeth Jane his wife and sons
Frederick and Frank, although I won't know until I see the contents of the
will. Presumably he left enough to keep his widow in comfort. As George
was 73 when he died, he had probably retired from the Pantiles with his
wife, so could have quite easily been living elsewhere in Tunbridge Wells.
Sydney was the second to youngest child and would have been 16 when his
father died. He will be the Sydney Featherstone in the Ellis Island
entries. Did he marry and have a family in America, do you know?

Fascinating isn't - just like cryptic crosswords.
