Hi Connie,
Edna's quite right about spelling. Featherstone is one of those names that
tends to get spelt however the person saying it pronounced it! Hence my
family in Kent getting spelt Fe[a]verston[e] Fe[a]therston[e] and
occasionally Fever (Fever pronounced 'fev ver', btw),
Christine

Seems your ggrandfather Daniel Featherstone Jr. was living in Rock Co.
Wi. during the same time period my grandfather ( John Shannon
Fetherston) was born in Rock Prairie , Rock Co. Wi. My grandfather was
born in 1869. Rock Prairie (near Milton, Wi) and Porters are really
very close in location. As you know, regardless of how you spell
Fetherston or Featherstone , it isn't a common name for the area. Isn't
it interesting - but I find no connection in my data base!! Still is
raises some questions. Did your relatives by any chance come into the
USA through Canada?
