Hello,
I am searching for relatives & information on Janios + Loti Heimlich.
Janio was born April 1860 in Rusor, Hunyad Megye, Hungary.
About 1885 Janios left his family of about 6 children to come to America.
Later his son Emanuel( nickname- Mano or Manny) followed.
He was about 10-11 years old.
Emanuel arrived on Oct.4,1899 on the ship Werra from Bremen, Germany.
Janios may have left from Hamburg, Germany. Emanuel's last residence
was listed as Deva. Some of the names that I believe related are Samuka,
Sarika,Rezsi(Reszo) a butcher, Hermina- who had two daughters and a
son. Bab whose daughter was named Erzsike and wife Miczike I believe.
Uncle Marci, Aunt Cilla, Zsiga and Grandmama Lili.
My information is from a letter dated 1915. Written in OLD Hungarian.
Also Loti was remarried in a civil marriage in 1908 in Bihisggula, Hungary
where they lived. This is the same area Hermina was with her husband and
children. Also a post card with billy(?) Junger C. Petrozseny, post marked
March 12,1920. Josef Joldmanra or Goldmana in Belsagyorb. These were
hard to read. I believe the Butcher & Crop Merchant shop was owned and
run by the grandparents. Parents of Loti. Reszo died in the war. After his
enlisting, he was in Budapest for 3 months. He was transferred to Galician
front, today's southern Poland. He died on March 12th from a gunshot to
his head. The news came from a priest in the local hospital in "Zakleicym".
Janios was also sent to Budapest, then further on but the letter don't say
why. Janios may also lived in Gyulafehervar. Samuka was 15, worked
as a man-servant. Was made to sleep outside and died from the cold.
Sarika was 16 and she shot herself in the head on Jan. 16th.
Samu died at 18 after suffering from a long illness.
This family had a couple businesses, one being a clothing store
in the front of their house.
I am sorry this information is so long but I am hoping with it some
one may be able to help me. Maybe someone may even know of
some relatives to this family.
I am a granddaughter of Emanuel. Thank You in advance for your
help.
Millie, NJ
