Hello Cindy,

I hope you are searching locally for your Nimitz family. You should
begin with the records in each locality where a Nimitz ancestor settled
in the USA. Look at church records, naturalization records, land
records, etc. and look for clues as to where they came from in
the old country.

Look at the various internet databases such as WorldConnect.rootsweb.com
and network with others researching your surname. Be sure to put what
family info you have on the various databases and others will contact you
too.

Your query here is very generic, and there are probably are not enough
members of the FEEFHS-List to be able to give you much help. Consider
joining more specific lists such as one from an area of Prussia that you
know or suspect your Nimitz family could have come from.
