Is anyone searching these surnames? Gustav Halbe emigrated to USA in 1868 and his wife Carolin Piek Halbe emigrated with 3 year old daughter, Johanna in 1871. This family went by the surname HALB in the US. Carolin also went by the name Bertha. They had at least 10 children in the US., most born in Dakota Territory.

The ship's manifest lists Gustav as coming from Konigsberg and it appears like his wife lists Lasdehnen as her origin but it is rather hard to decipher. These places are now in Russia. I have no given names of the parents of Gustav and his wife. Does anyone have any suggestions for me. Does anyone know where records from this area of East Prussia might be archived? Might they be in Poland? I have pretty thoroughly searched all records here in the US. I know there are many many records in the LDS for Konigsberg but I do not know what surrounding areas he might be from. There is also more than one town named Lasdehnen.
