I hope that everyone on this list that lives anywhere near Minnesota
will consider attending the August 19-21, 2005 FEEFHS convention
in St. Paul, Minnesota. Many people looking for their roots think
that all they need to do is keep looking on the internet and someday
they will hit the jackpot and find their complete family history just
waiting for them.

In reality, attending conventions, reading books, taking classes, talking
to family members and reading rolls and rolls of microfilm is how we
will find our ancestors. I hope all of you will support the various
societies
that specialize in your area of research, join and even volunteer in these
societies. You will be amazed at the things you will learn by rubbing
shoulders with others with a a common goal.

Here are the August convention details:

The FEEFHS (Central & Eastern European Genealogy) Conference
for 2005 will be in St. Paul, Minnesota August 19th - 21st. There
are speeches that will cover all areas of central and eastern Europe,
and attendees are sure to learn more than they thought possible.
Many speakers are the experts in their areas of Europe and you will
be able to informally visit with them and figure out how to find your
elusive family roots. Beginners as well as advanced researchers are
welcome!

There will be 93 talks by 58 speakers and some of the topics sound
fascinating.
