The Family History Library has the ship's lists from Hamburg from 1850-1934.
These lists give the actual place of birth or last residence. I suggest you try
this to find your town. I think you will have some success with this.

I really appreciate the information, and sites for information and maps,
that I received both on-list and off-list. I had no idea there would be
such a vast amount to read. It is so very interesting and informative.

A special thanks to Carol for pointing out the correct spelling and
pronunciation for Galicia.

I do have the BUDYNSKI's Port of Departure November 1897 as Hamburg,
Germany - and Port of Arrival as Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The ship's
manifest only has them from "Austria". I got "Galacia" [sic], Austria
from the Canadian Census.

I have yet to find the BUDYNSKI's that arrived in 1901. I have checked
the Ellis Island site, with all possible spellings, but have not found
the family of Michael and Anna with their 7 children.

I haven't included the previous posts because it makes such long
repetitive replies. I also used "Galicia" in the Subject line to make it
easier to find related posts in the archives. Am I not posting properly?
