Hello Fergus cousins, and friends,
The list has been quiet for a very long time now. Why not post your
lineages for all to connect with - we have new subscribers!
Tomorrow I will be departing for England, Scotland, and Wales to follow the
Scottish Fergus trails . . . even though I am a decent Fergus hound the
scent is scant. An Indiana cousin will be meeting me in Manchester,
England. We will be driving to the Scottish Borders in the north and
meandering through the wee towns there where historic castles abound and
things of 'olde' are of interest.
Then, we will head to Glasgow as a base. Barbara and I will spend a day on
the island of Arran. That day we return to Glasgow to the airport to pick
up Roberta Fergus Barron (my gracioius Fergus hostess from Northern Ireland)
and James Fergus (one of our subscribers who lives in London). The four of
us will be traveling about as I prepare to lead the August 2003 Fergus Tour
of Scotland and Ulster - allowing one week in each.
Unfortunately, the Laird of Stranovar and the Clan Fergus(s)on Museum has
been ill and will not be able to meet with us. He has closed the museum.
We are definitely disappointed. Yes, I know we are not Fergus(s)ons, but
remember, I follow all trails.
Yes, we'll be going to St. Fergus and Ferguslie and to the cathedral to see
the Fergus plaque and see what historical background we can find there.
We have a very ambitious itinerary as I like to pack in as much as possible
and then select only the best for my tours.
If there are any subscribers who live in England, Scotland, or Wales please
post directly to me prior to Friday 2 a.m. G.M.T. as I will be departing for
the airport early a.m. Yes, we would love to meet you if you let me know
where you live!
Ready, Aye, Ready for a trip to the olde country,
Cynthia N. Russell
