this is very interesting as I have never been able to find the brother of my ggrandfather. My ggrandfather's name is John Alexander Ferguson and his brother was named Frank WESLEY Ferguson. My father's middle name is Jack LEE Ferguson.

I was checking information sent to me by Margaret, and she sent me the link to the Thistle and Bee.

There was information submitted by you and you indicated that you did not know the connections.

Here goes:

Ferguson in Hancock Co TN 1880 Census records show Fergeson (Ferguson) Eliza 48 Tn, Tn, Tn
Children, Vesta 18, James 13, and Joseph.

Forguson (Ferguson) in Hancock Co, TN 1870 Census shows: Joseph 67 NC, Louisa 39 Tn, Mary 15, Lea 12, VEsta 9, James 3, Jospeh 7/12.

These two are a match. Joseph Ferguson married Louisa "Lisa" Carr. She is also refrred to as "Liza" and they had the following children, Mary, Lee (not Lea), Vestie (Vesta), James M. (my great grandfather), and Jospeh, Jr.

Ferguson in the 1860 Hancock Co, TN Census shows Forgason (Ferguson), Joseph 60 NC, Louisa 27, TN, Mary 4, Lea (Lee) 2 Vesta 3 weeks.

Wesley, John and Jeremiah are listed by you as brothers.

My father used to tell me that there was another Ferguson family living in Sneedville, TN (Hancock Co.) about 1-2 miles from them, but they were not related. I find thi hard to believe because of the nature of the land and area.

The information I have is that Wesley Ferguson was born 1843, Claiborne County, and was the son of Andrew and Elizabeth Ferguson, both of who died before 1850. Wesley's brothers and sisters were listed as John, Jerry, Susie, Emline, Robert, Sarah, and Polly.

I think the other Ferguson family my father referred to was Robert Ferguson.

I would like to make some connection to the Ferguson's living in that small town of Sneedville, TN.
