I have a John Isom Ferguson in my background, not in my direct line
but the brother to my Robert Mills Ferguson (b. 15 Aug 1859 Chester
Co., SC; died 25 Nov. 1940, Castro Co. TX, but had been living in
Taylor Co., TX). They are the sons of Robert Amzi and Priscilla Ann Y.
Nichols, of SC and Ark.
They go back through Robert Ira Ferguson (who first married Rachel
Thomson and then Priscilla's sister, mary Ann Nichols), then through
Pleasant William F., b. c. 1766 SC married Mary Ferguson, then
supposedly through James Ferguson, the Tory colonel, and Mary
Lawrence, then through James Sr and Agnes Adams.
I have three lines with Fergusons in them (two with James Sr. and
Agness Adams); the Mary Ferguson above I don't know much about.
So my point is, if Isham (Isom) is an uncommon name and more easily
traced, are these lines accurate according to what you have, or do you
see some error of my ways (primarily, the ways of a dear now-elderly
cousin of my mom's who researched the Fergusons some years ago).
