Results are in for Calum Ferguson. His ancestor is Uilleam
ClannFhearghuis (William Ferguson) b.~1796 son of Pàdruig (Peter) on
the Isle of Lewis in the Hebrides. Calum matches close enough to Neil
Ferguson and the late David Lawrence Ferguson to define a new clade,
i.e. Haplogroup R1b - Clade: Hebrides. Neils ancestors are from St.
Kilda and David's the Isle of Islay, they are compared on this page
http://dna.cfsna.net/HAP/R1b/Hebrides.htm
Also a member of the Hebrides clade is Rodney Ferguson whose ancestor
is from Clones, county Monaghan in Northern Ireland. Presumably
Rodney's ancestors emigrated to Ulster but in truth we are stuck with
the chicken and egg question "which came first the Irish Ferguson or
the Scottish Ferguson?"
