I made an error in this email - reference should be to Andrew Ferguson,
1724, not 94.

Colin -
This makes me very happy. I have been beating my brains out trying to find
a definite link between Andrew Ferguson 1794 in NC and David, Wilson, etc.
David is not mentioned in Andrew's will, which does not necessarily mean he
was not related. However, I picked the link between them up from the
Reimart genealogy and it showed Wilson as David's son, and David as Andrew's
son.

DNA proof is Much better!! I was thrilled when Mark told me he had decided
to take the testing further.

67 marker results are now in for Mark Ferguson whose ancestor Wilson
FERGUSON was born about 1826 in VA, son of David FERGUSON and Mary
SLOAN. Mark falls with Haplogroup: I2b - Clade: Isles/Sc and is a
close match to everybody in Branch IV. Within that branch are two
other Virginia lines well documented in the book "The Ferguson
Connection, Russell County, Virginia 1775-1994" by Christine and
Conley D. Stallard:
(1) Andrew FERGUSON b. Nov 1793, NC
(2) John Campbell FERGUSON b 1775 Halifax Co, VA

Mark matches all 37 markers of Kenneth FERGUSON whose ancestor is
Andrew FERGUSON b.~1724, Scotland; d. 1810 Lincoln County, NC the
ancestor of the Searcy County Library's founder James G. FERGUSON. An
upgrade to 67 markers for Kenneth is in process.

The other matches in Branch IV provide clues as to where Mark's
emmigrant ancestor may have originated. He closely matches four
participants with ancestors from Ulster and one from Dundee, Angus,
Scotland.
