The Armstrong family were friends and emigrated to Canada in 1849 with
George Acheson and his wife Margaret Jane Corigan. She died on the trip over
and George remained in Canada (with a short period in the US). The two
families came from Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh, Ire.
