Gail and all fellow McManus cousins;

I agree wholeheartedly with Maureen. I recently received my gr grandparents
marriage certificate and it gave me their father's names, the church they were
married in and where gr grandma was from. 2 new names and 2 new townlands to
search.

I have not been able to get the 1901 census for McManus to find them, but did
find most of them in 1911 at FHC. Just need to make a few more trips to FHC.

The first 2 generations:

Descendants of Thomas McManus

Generation No. 1

1. Thomas1 McManus1.

Child of Thomas McManus is:
+ 2 i. Patrick2 McManus.

Generation No. 2

2. Patrick2 McManus (Thomas1)2. He married Margaret Gallagher2 January
19, 1874 in Roman Catholic chapel of Monea, Registar's district of Ely, PLU
Enniskillen, daughter of Ed Gallagher. She was born Abt. 1854. From Carrick
Beg. He is from Toneel, Boho.

Children of Patrick McManus and Margaret Gallagher are:
+ 3 i. Bridgit3 McManus.
+ 4 ii. Thomas Joseph McManus, born June 02, 1881 in Toneel, Boho,
Fermangh, Ireland or 06/22/1881; died February 24, 1930 in Tarrytown, NY. Married
Rose Gunn
+ 5 iii. Sarah McManus, born Abt. 1883. Married Thomas Walsh in NY.
+ 6 iv. Mary "Auntie May" McManus, born Abt. 1885. Married Frank L.
Emery, NY
7 v. Patrick McManus, born Abt. 18874.
8 vi. John McManus, born Abt. 1889.
9 vii. Francis McManus, born Abt. 1893.
+ 10 viii.Margaret Jane McManus, born February 02, 1894 in Toneel, Boho,
Fermanagh, Ireland; died October 02, 1977 in Jamaica, Queens, NY. Married John
W. Dunne in NY, he was from Mullagh, Dromahaire, Leitrim.

Brigid, Patrick, John, and Francis stayed in Ireland as far as I can
determine, and the others came to NY. On the 1911census, I have widow Margaret
McManus and children Patrick, age 24, John age 22, Maggie Jane (my grandmother) age
20 and Francis age 18.

Bridgid married Thomas Leonard and grandma was the godmother of their child
Mary Ann, the day before she left to come to NY. So either 1915 or 1920,
haven't determined which Margaret McManus at Ellis Island yet. Haven't looked at
this branch at all.

Have no further info for the McManus' that stayed in Ireland. but lots for
the family that came to NY.

Another family to try to sort out!

I do have a Pension search form for Bridget from Killydrum, Boho, parents ,
Patrick McManus and Ellen. If anyone can tie this into their family I'll
gladly forward it or send it to them.

A beautiful start to a beautiful Spring week in FL. Enjoy!

AnneMarie
