youths, who had attended Colleges and Universities and who had always paid their rents on time. They left by their thousands. They took their skills
and modest capital away from a misgoverned, ruined country in which they would have been beggared by having to pay for the consequences of the
misgovernment. They went in the most part to North America or anywhere that would have them."
