Jan,
Many thanks for the offer to look for the resting place of the Book of Records.
I had thought I was responding to a message which mentioned that it was at
Princeton, so I checked their library/archives web site as thouroughly as I
could. No luck. I also checked through the web site for Rutgers, where I know
there is an F.R. collection, and again couldn't verify that it is there.
It would seem that such an important document giving basic information on our
Edward would have been reproduced and printed in a genealogical journal by now.
If you can find its location, it should be a matter of considerable interest to
all of us.
Many thanks again for your response. Later, I may ask some questions about
driving in NJ this summer. My tribal connection still eludes me and I am hoping
to persuade a cousin to come with me this summer to comb through records to find
an elusive F.R. who came to the wilds of Ohio in 1809. He has failed to make any
of the genealogies I have ever found, including the two big ones (Christian and
Oris H. F R.).
