My wife and I returned home to Virginia Beach,VA after the
annual F-R Reunion that was held in North Bend State Park,W.V. We didn't
have the turnout that we expected,or hoped for,but we expect off years
will occur.Saturday evening we went
south of Harrisville to the area where the F-R,Ehrets,
Maxsons and other families linked to our family,lived.It,literally,is in
the sticks,with rolling hills,and only an occasional bottom land.The
roads are two lane ,cow trail,roads.
The Seventh Day Baptists have a Summer Camp Grounds at
Berea,Richie County,that is beautiful and can accomodate a large
group.It's called Camp Joy.Otter Slide located on Otter Slide Crick (WV
pronunciation) is nearby .
We culminated the evening by attending an ice cream social in
Auburn ,W.V. in the town community center and was a fund raiser for the
local 4 H'ers.The pies were homemade and with a dip of homemade ice cream
was $1.10. Most of our party went back for seconds.
