I am researching the "Harris" family who is found on the 1850 census
for
Colleton Co, SC...

Found Florida land patents of William Harris 1855-1859 in Columbia/Union
Co, FL...

William Harris & his son-in-law, John W. Costine, then migrated to Polk
Co, FL by the 1870 census...

Living in the 1870 household of William Harris & Celia Roberts Harris &
family is "Jane" - age 15, born in Florida...

"Jane" turns out to be "Jane Deacles/Deecles" - as mentioned in the will
of William Harris...

"Jane Deecles/Deacles" is on the 1880 census for Polk Co, FL living in
the household of Richard Caddin & his wife, Mary Harris - daughter of
William & Celia Harris...

I suspect that Jane Deecles/Deacles is "Jane Dekle" & is somehow
connected to the families of John L. Dekle, age 62, born SC, found on
the 1860 census for Columbia Co, Fl, and Thomas E. Dekle, age 46, born
Ga, found on the 1870 census for Bradford Co, FL...

Does anyone have any info on a Dekle female born around 1855 in
Florida???

Also suspect that the "Jamerson" family connects to these
families...Samuel Jamerson is in the 1850 Harris household in Colleton
Co, SC...

The Harris & Roberts & Costine families probably moved into the Columbia
County area of Florida after traveling through & living in Georgia...

Would appreciate any clues/leads you might have on these individuals...
