hi Ann - well, without giving away exact ages, i can remember when there
was nothing in Arlington past Alderman Rd, the "sand dunes" were called
Murphy's Gold Mine (i think it was Murphys, but could be wrong on that);
Mill Creek Road was a dirt rut road and Regency didn't exist; neither did
anything else until you got to the beach except Craig Field.

the rose trellis that you mention was in Confederate Park in Springfield. i
don't know if the trellis is still there. don't think so.
