Subject: [FLDUVAL] Help! Searching in Jacksonville
Date: Mon, 11 Feb 2002 09:24:23 -0500

I have a question I hope you can answer for me. I am doing genealogical
research on my ancestors from Jacksonville,Florida.

The problem is that even though I know they were there as early as 1901,
(city directories tell me so) I cannot find them on ANY of the subsequent
censuses! This is very frustrating. My question is this: Can you tell me
what Enumeration District the address "1438 Harrison Street" in
Jacksonville, Florida would have been in 1920? or 1910? It is on the
Eastside. Perhaps this will help me narrow the search. It will at least
enable me to order the correct microfilm, as there are several different
ones for Jacksonville.

I don't know if anyone here has any indexes and you do lookups but if so,
I am looking for John Smith (oh yes, a big part of the problem is the
common name:) and his wife Georgia). They were African-American which
may help, and should show up in 1910 and 1920.(agewise they would be in
their 20s, maybe early 30s)

ANY HELP you can give me would be much appreciated!!! I thank you in
advance~ Robyn
