I am trying to connect my mother's mother, Sarah Mandy Johns, b. 1875
to her father, Marion Johns, who she told me was "killed by some old drunk"
when she was very young. I have found 3 Marion Johns---all connected to
Azel Johns of St. Clair Co., AL. Azel came with the Dearmans from
Darlington, S.C. in the early 1800's.
Grandma told me her mother was Martha Chestnut. I found a Martha Johns in
the household of Jasper Skinner on the 1880 Santa Rosa Co., FL fed census.
Also on that census was Eliza (grandma's sister) and children Isabella James
A., Frances, plus Eliza's younger brother, John W. Johns. My grandmother,
who was about 5 at the time was not listed on that census.
Sure would appreciate you keeping an eye out for Marion Johns and any hard
data that would connect him to my grandmother.
Als have quite a bit of Collinswortth data which fellow researchers, Wendy
Walker, and Linda Bullock are sharing. Wondered if there are other
Collinsworth researchers in the Santa Rosa Co., FL area. My Collinsworth
is as follows:
Zachariah 1782 -
William 1803 -
Abraham 1841 - 1917
William Neal 1868 - 1942
Edna Mae 1910 - 1943 (my mother)
