Liz,

I just read your response to Mary's request for information on the Johnson's
of Gadsden Co., and it looks like we both may be descended from a Martha
Johnson, who would have been my GGgrandmother. Her daughter, Elizabeth, married
Robt. R. Scott, my was grandmother's (Sarah Louisa Scott Stokes) mother. I sent
the following information to Mary:

"My ggrandmother was Elizabeth Johnson Scott. Her husband was Robert Richmond
Scott. They were married in December, 1845, in Havana, Gadsden Co., FL. Her
mother was Martha Scott, but we are not sure what her father's name was.
Elizabeth died in November of 1859. She had four children, three daughters and one
son - Mary Ann, Francis, Robert I., and Sarah Louisa. We have a photo of one
of Elizabeth's brother and his wife. His name was George W. Johnson.
Apparently, one of Elizabeth's sisters married one of Robert R. Scott's brothers because
my grandmother, Sarah Louisa, had some 'double cousins' also named Scott. If
you discover any additional information about the Johnson family history, I'd
appreciate learning about it. The 1840 and 1850 censuses had several Johnson
families listed."

I would be very appreciative of any information that you might have obtained
for inclusion in your family history book about any of the following families:
Stokes, Scott, Johnson, Ball, Fletcher, Mizell, or Chason. They were all
present in Gadsden, Leon, Harris and surrounding counties during the 1830-1890
time period. I think you provided me some information earlier about the
Stokes/Fletcher families, but I still haven't been able to determine who Joshua Stokes
(my Ggrandfather) parents were. He had at least three brothers who migrated
there from Georgia and/or NC in the 1830's or 40's. They were Andrew J., John,
and Burrell.
