Subject: cemetery indexes for Concord, Vickers & Barber cemeteries

I have cemetery indexes for the three big cemeteries in eastern Gadsden County-- the Barber Cemetery (white section only), the Concord Cemetery, and the Vickers Cemetery, which I am about to submit to Genweb. None of these are on the Genweb site yet.

Before I do that and the information becomes their property, I wish to offer it to anyone on the list who wants a copy.

These are not ordinary indexes. They are current as of the last person who died two weeks ago, and they have genealogical information on 90% of the people in each of them. My mother researched the genealogical information and she published it 5 years ago. I have added everyone who has died since 1999. Mama doesn't want to do any more reprints of her book, so she agreed to let me post the indexes on a web site where more people could have access to them.

If you would like to have a copy, e-mail me directly and I will send it to you. I have photos of each person whose name is in ALL CAPS, because I am collecting old photos of Concord people for my book to be called "Coonbottom Kin", whenever I can finish it. I would be happy to share photos with anyone who wants one, and I would appreciate it if anyone has photos of the people I don't and would share with me. It would help me finish my book sooner if I could dig up the rest of the photos I need.

The most prolific families in these cemeteries include the names: Barber, Bell, Perkins, Poppell, Stephens, Strickland, Walsh, and Vickers, with most of the other family names being those of people who married into these families. There are some loose ends, though--people who moved here and died with no connections whatsoever. All 3 of the cemeteries were started in the 1800's.
