I don't agree with this statement because I have an index to many of the
newspapers on microfilm at the University of Florida. Perhaps Sheila Martin
knows more than I do, but there is at least one index.
The current problem with viewing microfilm is that the Smathers (main)
Library is undergoing expansion and remodeling. Smathers is closed to all
for the time being, students must use other libraries such as the Marston
Library in the Computer Science Building, and not all microfilm is housed there,
some is actually stored off campus and must be special ordered.
The UF Library is open to the pubic and all are welcomed. You can view
and print what you find for a nominal fee of 10 cents per copy. There will
be plenty of friendly assistance of help you find your microfilm. Library
hours are usually from early to late, 7 days a week.
