Angela,

In another email of yours you mentioned old cemeteries that are in Gadsden Co that were surveyed by people other than genealogist. You said it was quite extensive. I am looking for my Womack/Wommack connections. I have viewed the surveyed cemeteries in Gadsden Co and have never found graves for any of my Womack/Wommack family. Benjamin Womack/Wommack died in 1859 in Liberty Co. On the 1860 cenesus his wife Nancy and children Dora, Francis, Green, James, William and Caroline are listed in Gadsden Co. From there they moved to Polk Co, Fl. I am thinking that when Benjamin died they must have lived near the county line and that he possibly was buried in Gadsden Co. No luck in Liberty Co. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm the coordinator for the Gadsden County GenWeb page, and I was born and raised in Gadsden County, so I love this volunteer job. I am working very hard to expand the Gadsden GenWeb page and make it one of the best ones in Florida.

I am working on some new cemetery indexes with tombstone photos right now, but I am about to get back on developing my Ancestor Photos page.

I would be pleased if everyone on this list sent me photos of their deceased ancestors (or anyone else you have photos of) who were born in, lived in for a significant amount of time, or died in and are buried in, Gadsden County.

Please e-mail photos if you have scanning capability (scan at 300 dpi resolution). If not, contact me directly and I will give you a mailing address where you can mail copies of photos to me and I will scan them. You can get good copies of photos at any Walgreens or CVS on their kiosk. I need photos to be on photographic paper, not just something printed on plain paper--they will not scan well from paper copies.

Please include:
Full name of person
Name of spouse
Name of parents
Names of children if known
Where in the county the person lived (closest to what town)
Where the person is buried
Birth and death dates and locations of both
Any other pertinent information: occupation, affiliation with political or civic groups, military service.
I use all of this to make a paragraph about the person.
It is OK to send photos with multiple persons in them, just name them left to right, row by row.

I will make every effort to get them up as soon as possible.

To those of you who have sent me some photos and they are not up yet, I apologize. I have moved twice in the last 4 months and I packed for 2 months before that, my computer has been on the blink but now is fixed, and I have been trying to finish a 900 grave cemetery index with photos. I will get your ancestor photos up by end of January for sure.

Thanks for your help.

Please post all replies to my personal e-mail unless they would be of interest or help to the entire list.
