Hello,
I was wondering if one of the Micklers that moved to Hernando Co. was
named Joseph. My gggrandfather Francis W. ROSS was listed in the 1870
census as residing in the home of Joseph, whom the census list as
being
born in 1827. Joseph's wife's name was Martha (b.1846). Children were
Frances C.(b.1862) and Joesph F. (b.1864).
Ring any bells?
Thanks,
Paige
The only Joseph Mickler I have is one born in Hernando county in 1886,
the son of DH and KJ Peterson Mickler.
There were Micklers, I believe living over in the area that became
Pasco, but were part of the family that was associated with the
Baisden women. The Micklers that are part of my clan came out of
Suwannee/Madison county FL before that they were in St. Marys Camden
County GA. Some of the Early Micklers were part of the Ebenezer group
in Effingham county GA. They used the Geman spellig Michler before
anglosizing it with a K.
I'd suggest backing from Hernando into Suwannee, Madison and hamilton
counties. Suwannee and Hamilton county records are fairly intact.
Both of them plus Madison provided a lot of early settlers for the
area that was early Hernando.
