Hi...

I am not sure I did this before....but I am asking for help in finding
information on Darkis (or Dorcas) Yarbrough (May 1866 Charlton Co, GA -
?) daughter of John W. and Annie Hodges Yarbrough and the wife of Isaac
Gainey...they married Jan 19, 1883 In Charlton Co, GA...I am looking for
whatever information there is on Darkis and Isaac Gainey.....besides
what i found below....
I located her and her children in the 1900 Baker Co, FL Census and she
is listed as 34, Divorced with 6 children and two other children who are
listed as niece and nephew....the children names are: Mandy (13),
Annie(10), Ammy(8), Dempsy(5), Frank(4) and Paul(3/12), the two other
children are Stella and Willie. I also found her in the 1910 Baker Co,
FL Census and she then listed as Widowed with 5 of her own
children....the three daughters listed above are not living with
her...and the remaining children are Dempsy, Frank, Paul, Rena, and
Robert...and she has four other children listed, Willis, Lizzie Gainey,
and Turner and Richard Cox....niece and nephews.....actually Willis and
Lizzie are married.... I found her in the 1920 Lafayette Co, FL
census....with three of her children, Paul , Rena and Robert and two
relatives, Stella and Alex Hix.....Darkis is still listed as
Widowed.....I found her son Dempsy in 1930 census living also in
Lafayette Co, FL , married to a Ellen....also found her other sons,
Frank living in Lafayette Co, Fl also married to a Julia.....and also
found Paul married in 1930 Duval Co, FL Census, married to a
Minnie.....I do have that Dempsy died in Hillsborough Co, FL...Frank
died in Clay Co, FL...Paul died in Duval Co, Fl...the rest of the
children is not knowm...possibly Robert is still alive....being born
about 1906.....

I would appreciate some help in whatever information there is on Darkis
(Dorcas) Yarbrough Gainey....I am not sure when she died, but I have her
buried in Daniel Cemetery in Duval Co, FL.....and I am not sure if she
remarried either....I cannot find her in 1930.....I think I found Isaac
Gainey in the census, but he is listed as a prisoner and there is not
much known after that....
