Mamie V. Capps VERO BEACH - Mamie V. Capps, 90, died Monday, April 15, 2002.
The service will be at 2 p.m. EDT Saturday at Lamont Baptist Church in
Lamont, with burial at Walker Cemtery in Madison County. Family will receive
friends from 1 p.m. until the service at the church. Beggs Funeral Home,
Monticello Chapel (997-5612) is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions
may be made to Lamont Baptist Church, Route 1, Box 59, Lamont, FL 32336. A
native of Taylor County and former resident of Jacksonville and Monticello,
she had lived in Vero Beach since 1995. She retired as the Jefferson County
Tax Collector and was a former school teacher. She was a member of Lamont
Baptist Church, the Gladiolus Circle of the Monticello Garden Club and the
Town & Country Club. She is survived by a son, General Richard G. Capps of
St. Augustine; a daughter, Colleen Dees of Vero Beach; and a sister, Sally
Mae Deese of Fort White.
