YORK, ME - Natalie A. Flynn, 93, died on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004.
She was born in Newton, Mass., Aug. 5, 1911. Mrs. Flynn was a graduate of Newton High School, where she was a star athlete in the early 1930s and set numerous national track and field records.
She moved to York Harbor, in 1950 and became a local artist and a member of the York Art Association. Mrs. Flynn graduated from the University of New Hampshire with an associate’s degree in 1974. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Christopher’s Church and member of the Seacoast Choir.
She was the beloved wife of the late Robert H. Flynn. She is survived by three sisters, Mary Birmingham of Waltham, Mass., Joan Bradford of Hull, Mass., and Gertrude Shelley of Boston. Mrs. Flynn is the loving mother of Martha Pleshaw of Washington, D.C., Kathleen McCarthy of Cambridge, Mass., and Patricia Flynn of Newton, Mass.; and grandmother to seven grandchildren.
Visiting hours at Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home, 91 Long Sands Road, York will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 17 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Christopher’s Church, 4 Barrel Lane, York on Thursday, Nov. 18, at 9:30 a.m.
