Life Devotion for 4-2-1999
>From the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came over all the land. About the ninth
hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? - which means, "My
God my God, why have you forsaken me?" . . .
And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice he gave up his spirit.
Matthew 27:45-46, 50 (NIV)
As we thaw the ham and die the eggs in preparation for Easter Sunday let us not forget
what happened on Good Friday. To understand the joy of Easter morning we must
remember that our savior is now in the tomb, and realize how it must have felt not to
know how this story was going to end.
