I am seeking ancestors/information on my grandmother, Arlanda Forsythe
(1889-1964). She was the daughter of David Forsythe(dates unknown) and
Sarah Parker (1859-1935), and the grand-daughter of James Forsythe and Agnes
Forbes, and James Parker and Dorkas Burke. Arlanda was one of eight
children, six girls (Jessie, Dorkas, Sarah, Sadie, Betty, Arlanda) and two
Boys (David and ?).

Her family came to Nova Scotia from Hamilton, Scotland, returned to
Scotland, and then came to settle in Roscoe, Washington County, Pennsylvania
sometime before or about 1900. I am not sure of the date, but I know that
the two youngest daughters, Jessie and Betty were born in PA. I believe
that most of the girls stayed in the PA area, but the boys moved west.

Arlanda married my grandfather, George A. Sorrick and lived for a time
in Vineland, NJ where my father was born. My grandfather died when my dad
was small, and Arlanda move back to PA, living in Monogahela until she
passed away.

I would deply appreciate any information about her family, as I am
really having trouble getting started. Reply to
