I am trying to find links to my Foster's who were Silk Weavers in the
Bethnal Green area. They may or may not have been Huguenot but they
definitely married into Huguenot lines.

I have traced my line back to William Foster and Georgiana. Georgiana just
made civil registration dieing 14 November 1837. She was living in Thomas
Street off Brick lane at the time and was 75 years old. William obviously
pre deceased her.

They had seven children. All six sons were silk weavers. The only parish
record of their children's baptism I have found William was a Bricklayer but
must have been a Weaver previously or Georgiana was.
Their children were
Mary Jane born 1791 no further info
John James born 1793 married Sarah Le Marechal who was definitely Huguenot.
George William born 1796 married Eleanor
William Thomas born 1798 married Esther
Cuthbert Charles born 1800 married Elizabeth Ward
Frederick Edward baron 1803 married Mary Jane Davis this is my line
Stephan born 1806 married Jane

Frederick and Mary had 6 Children
Frederick William born 1825 and Mary Jane born 1833 lived together and never
married. They were school teachers. One census even listed them as husband
and wife.
Stephen John born 1827
Martha Matilda born 1835
Emily born 1838
William Alfred born 1845 this is my line
Frederick and Mary probably died fairly young as Stephen and wife Mary A ?
had the younger ones in two census.

William Alfred married Sarah Ann Jordan and had 6 children
Alfred James born 1875 this is my line
Alice born 1878
Frederick born 1880
Emma born 1885
Florence born 1876
Herbert born 1880
I know nothing of the younger five.

Alfred married Susannah Tilbey these were my grandparents.
They had three children and emigrated to Peru where Alfred was an oil
refiner. Alfred and one son died in Peru. I have found Susannah and my
father Albert moving through Ellis Island in 1817. My other uncle John went
back to London and brought up by Susannah's maiden sister Mabel.
All moved to NZ after WWI

The probable parents of the original William was William Foster and Mary
Parnell. William was a weaver and lived in Fashion Street Spitalfields.

Do any of these Foster's look familiar to anyone.

Regards and Merry Christmas
