I am responding to Sue Davies "looking for decentdents of my great great
grandparents THOMAS FOSTER and ELIZABETH PARKES...Staffordshire, UK."
"They had sons George...GEORGE FOSTER married MARY ANNE LLOYD"
I can hardly type, I'm so excited...My past 2 years of research has been
focused on finding George Foster who married Mary. My understanding is
they had 13 or 18 children and one adopted child, one of which was
Joseph Foster (my great great Grandfather, born August 18, 1886 in
Congleton, Cheshire, England.(other children: Edward, Issac,
William,Florence and May).
When you look at the map of England Cheshire is in the middle of
Staffordshire and Lancashire.
Joseph married Maude Ethel Bailey. They had 3 children:
Phyllis (1905), Arthur (1/12/1907, Macclesfield, Cheshire, England) my
Grandfather and May aka: Mae (1910). They moved (Joseph first, with his
family arriving at a later date) to Albert Park, Calgery, Canada where
Joseph worked in a flour mill. One day he went to pick up his pay check
and enlisted in the Army to fight for England. While in the service his
mother (Mary) near death (with dropsey) requested Joseph to return
home. Joseph received leave and when to his mother. Because she was
near death, he stayed an additional tow days. Upon his return, becasuse
of being late, he was sent tothe front line at Flanders Field.
He died there froma motor shell at the age of 30. Two of his brothers
also died in WWI.
I would love to hear from you!!
