Dear Michelle,
Thanks for the quick response! I'll send a couple of different queries. Help
on any aspect of the family would be great... (FYI: Richard and Sarah Ann
Foster are my GGGrandparents.)
I am looking for the parents of Richard Foster (married to Sarah Ann Stevens)
of South Canaan, Wayne, PA and Martha (Foster) VanFleet of Honesdale, Wayne,
PA. Richard was born about 1812 in New Jersey but was living in Luzerne
County, PA as early as 1840. If you can shed any light on this family, please
write to or J. Dixon at 1805 McPherson Ave., Richland, WA
99352.
I am looking for information on the children of Richard and Sarah Ann
(Stevens) Foster. I have their names and apx ages from one census but would
like some specifics and validation. Their names are Timothy (born abt 1839),
James (born abt 1841), Jeremiah (born abt 1844), Maria (born abt 1846), and
Henry (born abt 1848). I know nothing about the whereabouts of any of the
children after the 1860 census, except Jeremiah who lived and died in the
South Canaan, Wayne, PA area. I believe that Henry relocated to Sterling,
Wayne, PA but have little to base that conclusion on other than that there is
a Henry Foster living there later of the right age and his mother's family
were supposedly from that area.
Well, there you have my basic dilemma. Any help you can give me would be
greatly appreciated!
Joy
